Gracious God, You have promised through your prophets that Jerusalem will be an example to the nations. Hear our prayers that Jerusalem be a place for peoples of all faiths to dwell with You and one another in peace. May Beit Benedict provide an encounter with Your sacred presence that fosters reverence and reconciliation. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

For over 100 years, we the Benedictine monks of the Dormition Abbey on Mount Sion, have provided a welcoming environment for the people of Jerusalem to encounter God and one another.
Today, as we live and pray in this region troubled by violence and misunderstanding, we feel particularly called to work towards greater understanding and peace.
Our community provides to people diverse in faith, culture and nationality a sacred place in which to be guided in the path of reconciliation.
At the request of the people of Jerusalem, we are building a peace academy: Beit Benedict.
Beit Benedict will provide facilities to enhance and expand our prayer and work for peace. The priorities of Beit Benedict are to:
- Foster reverence and reconciliation through cultural events and peace education for people of various traditions
- Offer spiritual encounters to deepen relationships with God and neighbor
- Provide economic and pastoral support to the marginalized Palestinian Christians
